Direct Flights between Bremen and Sylt

Berlin - A new scheduled service will be taken up July 1st 2018, bridging the German North Sea waters of the Heligoland Bight between Bremen (BRE) and Westerland/Sylt (GWT). As a Bremen airport corporate press release revealed Wednesday, the flights of the start-up airline "yourways" will run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The small company is particularly targeting holidaymakers and upper class weekend guests. Sylt is a known resort island. Many well situated people own apartments or weekend houses on Germany's northernmost North Sea island.

"In the current traffic situation Sylt is more than five hours away from Bremen", the press release quoted Tim Haferl, the airline's CEO. A flight time of just over an hour makes the trip attractive for weekends. Yourways uses a single engine turboprop Quest Kodiak with nine passenger seats on the route.  The carrier is already flying to Sylt from Hamburg (HAM) and Wilhelmshaven (WVN). They revive flights over the Helgoland bay that have been abandoned after the regional carrier OLT went into decline and bankruptcy in 2011. Yourways is said to consider more services from Bremen, offering as well weekday connections later this year or in the coming season. Due to the small contingent of seats, tickets were announced for EUR 229.-
